The best way to spent a rainy day in Bavaria!!

There are really incredibly great places here in our Bavarian Forest. We not only have a beautiful landscape (hiking is very popular here), but this place also offers a lot for rainy days.

The number of great hotels is really exceptional. There is even one where not only dogs are welcome, no you can even take your own horse !!!.

What they all have in common is their closeness to nature and authenticity.

Typically Bavarian and at the same time modern luxury.

Of course, since I live here, it doesn’t make sense for me to stay overnight in a hotel.

This is why I have an insider’s tipp:

Even if you’re not staying overnight, you may use the hotel’s spa where you can really spend THE WHOLE DAY.

This is just perfect if the day is cold and rainy and hiking is not an option.

Perfect for romance, perfect for a girls‘ day out.

Of course it’s more expensive than a local swimming pool (We paid 65 € for the whole day including a breakfast buffet) , but there’s a lot more on offer here and way less crowded.

Here is a very brief summary of my whole day one day spa day 🙂

Our hotel was this one: Brunner Hof in Arnschwang

The hotel is in a very small, very simple village in the Bavarian Forest. It was totally unexpected that there is something so big and great so far in the middle of nowhere.

We booked a breakfast that was simply brilliant. The products are all local and very high quality.

My highlights were the life-cooking, the large selection of cereals, nuts and seeds for a healthy digestion and the fresh farm milk. The hotel buffet was perfect for my keto diet, I didn’t know what to eat first.

They serve honey in the honeycomb!

After that we went to the spa– for a whole 9 hours!

Everything here is designed as a kind of old traditional sauna village. Soo romantic.

There are many different saunas, including a special forest sauna and a steam room. I didn’t take any photos here, because of course you don’t take photos in the sauna….

You can’t get bored here at all.

I spent most of my time in the quiet room reading.

It is not an adults-only area, but there were no kids at all (Except for a very cute and well behaved little princess).

I love rain, other people obviously don’t. This way I had the outdoor area all to myself, in the middle of nature.
